Reflection

I have learned a lot from the Digital Arts module and have gained a lot of valuable experience this term. After gaining knowledge and abilities in digital arts over ten weeks—including blogging, taking photos, and building websites—I feel more prepared to begin my graphic design studies at DMU.

Acquiring new knowledge and experience prior to attending university is crucial for overseas students. Adapting to a new environment can be difficult. I enjoyed using a variety of software applications to design my projects while studying digital arts, such as Adobe Express, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, alongside websites like Milanote, Venngage, and Canva. I used these programs to help creating my projects and creative designs.

Through my researches and study time I gained plenty of useful information like famous graphic designers like Cipe Pineless, Abram Games, Chip Kidd as well as their experience and works in detail, colour in graphic design, typography, software usage, use of images and website making.

My goal in this term was to create a fashion website for the major project we were assigned to make. At first, I was lost on where to start, but the tutor and blog plans helped me plan out my project and start the process. I created the website and designed it alongside with the details like mock-ups and logotype creating. I made some mistakes throughout this project but in the end I learned to fix them and make it work, which is an essential skill to obtain.
