Project Research: Chip Kidd

Chip Kidd (1964) is an American modern era graphic designer, author and editor. His most well-known work is as a book cover graphic designer. He not only wrote some comic books for DC Comics but also created their covers, showing his respect for the comics. (Famous Graphic Designers, 2012)

Having designed jackets for Alfred A. Knopf since 1986, he currently holds the position of Associate Art Director. Over the span of two decades, he has undoubtedly altered people's perceptions of book jackets, elevating them from a simple protective covering to an artistic piece that helps promote the book. He anticipated how the iconic T. rex image would be utilized for movie advertising while designing it for Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park, which is a noteworthy example.
